favs.golf is a free website for logging the golf courses you’ve played. It is run by Sellorate, a company registered in Thailand (“we”, “us”). This page explains what we collect, why, who can see it and how to delete it.
The short version
- Your rounds, scores, notes, photos and bucket list are private to you.
- If you play ranked quiz rounds, your first name, initial and best score appear on the public quiz leaderboard, unless you switch that off.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
- You can delete your rounds at any time, and ask us to delete your whole account.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use these to sign you in and to show your name on your profile.
- Your golf. The courses you log, dates played, tees, scores, ratings, notes, photos you upload and your bucket list. You can also add a display name, home country and handicap to your profile.
- The quiz. If you’re signed in, we save your quiz answers, wedges and ranked rounds. For online matches we save the name you play under, your opponent, every roll and answer, and the result.
- Courses you add. If you add a course that isn’t in our list yet, we save its name and map location, and keep a record that you added it.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting providers receive your IP address and basic browser details when you visit, and keep short-lived logs for security and to keep the site running.
Who can see it
- Your rounds, scores, notes, photos, bucket list and profile are visible only to you.
- The quiz leaderboard is public. It shows your first name and the initial of your last name (for example “Peter S.”), your best ranked round, how many rounds you’ve played and your accuracy. You can take yourself off it at any time on your profile page.
- In an online quiz match, your opponent sees the name you chose for the match and your answers in that match.
- Courses you add go into the shared course list that every visitor can browse. Other golfers see the course, not who added it.
- We can see the data stored in our database when we need to run, fix or support the service.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. If you play the quiz without signing in, your progress is kept in your browser’s own storage on your device.
Services we use
- Supabase stores the database, sign-ins and photos, on servers in Singapore.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose Continue with Google.
- OpenFreeMap provides the map tiles. When you add a course, the name you search for is sent to OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) to find its location.
These providers process data for us to run the site. We don’t share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. Rounds and photos you delete are removed straight away. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, rounds, photos, bucket list and quiz history. Courses you added stay in the shared list, no longer linked to you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act, or the GDPR in the UK and EU), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email us at petersax@gmail.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
favs.golf is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is used, we’ll tell you on the site or by email first.
